Kip Shuford
Development Officer - South Louisiana Representative

Kip has a deep-rooted history of Methodist involvement and experiences, which serve him well as he travels the southern region of the state, deepening the Foundation's relationships with United Methodist churches and individuals.

He is a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge and has served as chairman of the Administrative Board, the Council on Ministries and many committees. He was a pilgrim of Emmaus Walk #9 and has served as a Stephen Minister. Kip most recently taught tenth grade Sunday school, and has taught at various age levels from seventh graders to the 80-year-olds in the last fifteen years. He also serves in First Church's Mentor Program.

Kip's business career began after graduating in 1975 with a B.S. from LSU. He has served as vice president of Capital Bank and administrative director of the Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Kip has served on the board of the American Heart Association and Junior Achievement and as chairman of the Southern University Athletic Association. He is a member of Partnership in Philanthropic Planning and the Planned Giving Council of Greater Baton Rouge. He and his wife of 27 years, Sandra, have one daughter who attends Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
