Turn Your Ministry Dreams into Reality: Free Workshops Available Across Louisiana

The United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana Grants Outreach Program invites United Methodist clergy and laity to explore the powerful potential of ministry innovation during a series of free half-day grant writing workshops held across Louisiana.

The “A New Thing” workshops, led by experienced facilitator Britney Winn Lee, Grants Outreach Program Coordinator, will delve into Kenda Creasy Dean's insightful book, Innovating for Love: Joining God's Expedition Through Christian Social Innovation. Participants will:

  • Discover the theological underpinnings and urgency of ministry innovation.

  • Encounter inspiring examples of innovative ministries already making a difference.

  • Participate in collaborative exercises to spark your own creative ideas.

  • Learn about valuable resources available through the Foundation, Conference, and regions to support your innovations.

“A New Thing” Workshop Dates and Locations:

  • Thursday, January 18 - First UMC, Alexandria

  • Saturday, January 27 - Centenary College of Louisiana, Shreveport

  • Saturday, February 17 - University UMC, Baton Rouge

  • Saturday, March 9 - First UMC, Lake Charles

  • Saturday, April 13 - Dillard University, New Orleans
