Loans

The Foundation offers deposit-secured loans to creditworthy churches and agencies
in the Louisiana Annual Conference.

The Foundation has loaned $37 million since its first church loan in 1993. These loans are made to churches and other ministries to address the needs for:

  • Expansion or improvement of worship facilities

  • Unexpected repairs

  • Other strains on a church budget.

Why might a church need a loan?

  • Expand

Develop a financial plan that will incorporate ministry, stewardship and fundraising, while determining a "safe" debt level.

  • Refinance

With a loan from the Foundation, you may be able to lower interest expense which increases funds for ministry.

  • Cash Crunch

Unexpected repairs or equipment upgrades can put a strain on the budget. Short-term loans can help your church focus on its ministry.

A loan success story

Years ago on Palm Sunday evening, a fire broke out at Northwood United Methodist Church in Lafayette, La.

This church was blessed by a Foundation loan that afforded them better facilities and a lower payment.

Your church can be the next success story!
